Courageous, talented, and driven are just a few words that attempt to describe the brilliance of the multi-faceted woman, Nancy Coretta Scaife-Mullens. Nancy is a phenomenal artist, wife, mother, and visionary. This creative artist and innovator has become the CEO of the new company, Artistic Rootz. However, her incredible journey began long ago.
Nancy Scaife was born September 19, 1982 in Forrest City, Arkansas with innate artistic abilities. As a child, Nancy developed a passion for art. Her mother often found paper all around the house with Nancy’s unbelievable drawings on them. This impeccable talent was quickly spotted by those around her including a kindergarten teacher. The teacher immediately noticed Nancy’s amazing talent, and without hesitation spoke prophetically about Nancy’s gift: She would become a famous artist one day.

Nancy vividly remembers the day she became preoccupied with her 8th grade classmates’ hair. Before she knew it she had drawn the girl’s hair, strand by strand. This marked a significant transition into drawing hairstyles with such intricate detail. After high school, Nancy soon felt compelled to produce a hair illustration book. Much to her surprise, beauticians fell in love with the book and readily purchased her work. Shortly after, Nancy stumbled upon self publishing information and followed a spontaneous inkling. In 2005, “Scaife Hairstyles” was published containing hand drawn hairstyles straight from Nancy’s God-given imagination.
In 2007, Nancy’s work became recognized by many moguls in the beauty industry. She obtained her first position within the beauty industry, working towards the creation of a unique magazine. However, Nancy quickly learned a valuable lesson. Her vision would not be fulfilled without God’s hand in the project. Over the next year, Nancy worked hard for the company, but faced many personal challenges. Towards the close of this partnership Nancy made a bold decision not to compromise her ethics, or allow credit to be placed in anyone’s hands other than God. It was at this turning point that Nancy dedicated her life to God, putting Him first in everything.
July 2009, marked a pivotal time for Nancy’s career and family. God revealed His plans for Nancy to start her own business. Nancy and her husband, Adrian Mullens sold all their possessions and headed towards their said promise land and current residence, San Antonio, Texas. Although she was starting from scratch, Nancy had faith that she was fully equipped this time with God in control.
In September 2009, the Artistic Rootz Company was established in San Antonio, Texas. The company houses: Napp2reality Fashion Accessory Brand, Kera's Hair Adventures, Kingdomaire Publishing & more.
Since 2010, Kingdomaire Publishing has published different literary works such as “In Times of War, Poems of Prayer” by her husband, author, Adrian D. Mullens. This book consists of powerful prayer poems & art with insight to each poem, God's Creative Process, the 7 Day Plan & Artistic Rootz Therapeutic Coloring Books which consist of Nancy's Hair Art you can color.
In 2016, Nancy and her husband started Napp2reality Fashion, Arthentic Lifestyle Brand for fashionable fashionistas to be able to wear Nancy's art creations as accessories which includes couture high end fashion earrings all the way to original design handbags.
Nancy Scaife-Mullens is a humble and virtuous woman with contagious enthusiasm. Her God-centered organization, Artistic Rootz, is a testament of her faith. Wisdom simply pours out of this young woman and she hopes to inspire and assist others as she does what she loves most, her gift from God, art.
